ParcLife has unveiled a stunning new show home in Edinburgh’s Green Quarter marking the launch of a new phase of properties now available to homebuyers.
The second phase of The Square, which is made up of 18 properties, has now been released. Award winning architects, Elder & Cannon, have designed two and three bedroom houses with private gardens and parking. The house layouts are bright and airy benefiting from double height ceilings and generous glazing.
With prices from £ 148, 500 for a two bed house through to £172,500 for a detached three bed house the houses on offer have no stamp duty and represent some of the best value-for-money properties anywhere in the city.
People looking to buy homes in Craigmillar will also benefit from an additional opportunity to participate in the LIFT scheme, which is to help first time buyers find affordable homes and is sponsored by the Scottish Government
John Docherty at Elder and Cannon said: “Our intention has been to provide individual houses that work with space and light. Based on a strong design philosophy we have created attractive, modern and energy efficient homes.”
The three bedroom show home has been created by Julia Neustein, of Interior Motives, who has built up a reputation for using only the highest-quality furniture and furnishings.
Offering a range of flexible and contemporary accommodations, PARC realises that modern-day living is about so much more than just creating open space, and has designed the homes to suit a range of tastes.
Julia Neustein is delighted with the overall result. She says “We wanted to give the home a thoroughly contemporary and chic feel and we’ve achieved this through the use of an abundance of luxurious textures.”
The designer stresses the importance of providing potential buyers with a clear understanding of how a home can be practical, yet comfortable and stylish at the same time.
Julia says: “The main living space is perfect for a soft grey sofa and armchair with an open plan feel. The soft, calming effect of the teal and brown palette allows the house to flow and feel spacious.”
“Teal is the new ‘duckegg’ and with this subtle warm theme running throughout, we have added a range of textures and fabrics teamed with rich blinds.
"Interior Motives always ensures that the furnishings used co-ordinate with the individuality of each property. We also want viewers to realise that they can achieve a very high standard of finish within their own budget."
Meanwhile the striking taupe linen bed combined with the teal backdrop, perfectly compliments the dark Wenge furniture in the master bedroom, which comes complete with en suite.
And of course, in keeping with the stylish and generously proportioned surroundings, there are high specification designer fixtures and fittings throughout these stunning homes. ParcLife homes offer a range of options and styles with a choice of Alno (Impulse range) kitchens, Porcelanosa tiles and white goods.
Each homebuilding phase at Parclife is different, reflecting contemporary and distinctive design, whilst inside, the homes will offer high-quality specification on a range of options and styles.
For many families looking to relocate finding the right school is high on the agenda and education is at the heart of Craigmillar's regeneration. Confirming its longterm commitment to the community, PARC has delivered a new award winning £16 million primary schools' joint campus at Wauchope Square.
Families can make their way from school to the new homes through the specially designed homezones, which will give pedestrians priority over all vehicles. This will mean that traffic and pedestrian spaces will merge into one with no raised pavements or road signage and markings.
Designed to a high specification by award-winning architects Elder and Cannon, the primary schools campus is set around an eye-catching, horseshoe shaped central building and will offer a wide range of classrooms, art and technology facilities, a library, computer suite and assembly hall - plus an outdoor play ground and all-weather sports pitches shared by both schools.
PARC is urging house buyers that there has never been a better time to find affordable, quality homes at The Courtyards. With prices from £110,000, The Courtyards comprises of 72 properties including one and two bedroom apartments and two and three bedroom houses designed by award winning architects Austin Smith Lord.
Jim Kelly, ParcLife's sales and marketing manager, comments: “This latest phase in the development offers is a superb opportunity for home buyers and the opening of the new show home is another positive milestone in the Craigmillar regeneration. Interior Motives have created a stylish, yet relaxed environment to give potential buyers an excellent idea of the quality they can expect from a ParcLife home.”
The new homes are in the heart of a thriving local community with easy access to local shopping centres such as Cameron Toll and Fort Kinnaird, as well as being well placed for the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
PARC Craigmillar was recently selected by the Scottish Government and SUST: Sustainability in Architecture, as one of Scotland’s 11 low-carbon communities of the future. PARC is the only project in Edinburgh to be selected to further the objectives of the Scottish Sustainable Communities Initiative (SSCI). The SSCI encourages inspirational developments which will serve as exemplars of the highest quality.
