First time home buyers in Craigmillar receive a LIFT

2 April 2009

People looking to buy homes in Craigmillar are to benefit from a 10% uplift in threshold prices as part of the £60 million support package extended to help first time buyers across Scotland find affordable homes.

The Open Market Shared Equity Pilot scheme, which was announced by the Scottish Government in January, is being expanded from 10 council areas to cover the whole of Scotland.  The scheme is part of the Government’s Low-cost Initiative for First Time Buyers (LIFT), to help people on low to moderate incomes buy an affordable home.

Jim Kelly, sales and marketing manager for ParcLife Homes said: “This package will provide an excellent boost for first time buyers in Craigmillar.  The 10 per cent uplift in threshold prices will make it much easier for customers to purchase the property of their choice and we encourage prospective buyers to come and find out more about this shared equity scheme at the ParcLife Sales and Information Centre on Niddrie Mains Road.”
