Leisure facilities include the Jack Kane Centre, which has an excellent range of indoor and outdoor sports and community activities and Craigmillar Castle, one of the best preserved medieval castles in Scotland.
The Green Quarter is also home to Edinburgh's first ever 'third generation' artificial sports pitch. Completed in 2007, the £1.2 million project includes a pavilion complex containing changing rooms and a club room.
The all-weather floodlit pitch is used for competitive football matches and hockey and rugby training by both schools and the local community.
Future plans include new community facilities as part of the school's development and a new library.
